
The Century Series
The Century Series is BMA’s most adventurous annual public multi-day trip offering! This river trip is designed to cover 100+ Great River miles over five-days and four-nights. The Century Series highlights a magnificent and historic traverse of the Mississippi River through the state of Missouri.
Prepare yourself to be thrilled by the ever changing landscape and river conditions, including rigorous paddling and primitive camping. Paddling and camping experience is recommended, but not required.
Wild Miles (Cape Girardeau, MO to New Madrid, MO)
With our experienced river guides leading the way, you’ll paddle from Cape Girardeau, MO to New Madrid, MO reaching into the belly of the Mighty Mississippi. Over the course of five days, you’ll cover 116 miles in our 29 foot voyageur canoes as you paddle into the massive alluvial flood plain and boot heel of Missouri. Along the way, you’ll explore the wonders of geologic transformation, floods, earthquakes, and human engineering attempts to control the River.

When is The Century Series trip in 2025?
Wednesday, June 25th - Sunday, June 29th
Who is this trip best for? - This trip is for adults only (must be at least 18 years old). It will involve rigorous paddling and primitive camping and is best suited for those with extensive experience.
Where and when does this trip start and end? - This trip starts at 9 am on Wednesday and ends around 5pm on Sunday. The meet-up location will be the BMA warehouse, centrally located in St. Louis City. Paddlers will be shuttled from the warehouse to the put-in location and from the takeout location back to the warehouse.
What is included in this trip? - We provide all necessary safety and paddling gear including life jackets, paddles, and dry bags. Our experienced river guides will be available for the duration of the trip to assist you and answer all of your questions. No need to worry about transportation as our crew will take care of shuttling you to and from the river. The Food Service includes 13 meals plus all snacks (lunch and dinner on Day One, breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Days 2-4, and breakfast and lunch on Day 5). We are able to accommodate most dietary restrictions. We will supply a cooler for any BYO beverages.
What do I need to bring? - Please make sure you bring the following items with you on your trip:

Weather appropriate clothing (as many layers as you may need for comfort.)
River shoes/sandals with a backstrap, waterproof boots, or old sneakers that you don’t mind getting muddy or wet (NO FLIP FLOPS)
Reusable water bottle

Sunscreen/bug spray
